BLOODSTOCK: Next Year's Festival Details Revealed

September 5, 2005

The organizers of the U.K.'s Bloodstock festival have announced the first details of next year's event. The 2006 installment of the Bloodstock Open Air festival will take place on July 14-15 at the Catton Hall in Derbyshire while Bloodstock 2006 is scheduled for September 29-30 at the Assembly Rooms in Derby. The first confirmed acts are expected to be announced during the coming months.

Bloodstock is the brainchild of Vince Brotheridge and Paul Gregory and their Nottingham-based promotions company. Recognizing the lack of a traditional heavy metal/rock festival in the U.K., Brotheridge and Gregory were determined to find a way to share their passion for the music with other fans around the world. Bloodstock exploded onto the festival scene in 2001 and over the last five years it has brought some of Europe's top rock acts to the U.K. for the first time (including PRIMAL FEAR, BLIND GUARDIAN, ELVENKING and NIGHTWISH).
